There's something going on inside University College Hospital, somebody ran into there and they sent armed police in. no news yet as to what is happening inside.

Latest info coming together is that witnesses saw a man who was on the tube train at Warren St run from the assembled crowd as they arrived at the foot of the escalators - and ran up the escalators - people cried out to stop him. A seperate witness outside the station and near UCH said they saw a man run into the hospital with 'wires running from his top' It may be someone who was injured needing attention, or something more sinister | |

3 or 4 police cars shooted up whitehall followed by armed police. Armed police forced him onto the floor opposite the road from downing street. He has been handcuffed and taken off by police heading in the direction of Richmond House. His shirt was completely unbuttoned which is very weird, no bad or anything on his person.

Again, this is from a BBC reporter who was actually on location to see it. [Edited 7/21/05 7:37am] His shirt was unbuttoned to check for hidden explosives. I would guess that would be standard proceedure in cases like this. | |

He was told about this when in lunch with the Australian prime minister. He would like to say these things are done by people who wish to scare others that thankfully they have been no casualties and that he hopes the people do don’t worry. He also stated that it is best he tells us no news and just let the police tell the public.
